| Tor Bay extends some 3.5 miles out to sea, with an average depth of 11m. Winds from the east can cause the fine sand and shingle bed to be stirred and so create reduced visibility but otherwise conditions are good. Over 20 ships were sunk in Tor Bay during a hurricane on 10/01/1866 and occaisionally items still turn up. |
