The English Riviera coastline extends to 22 miles, and includes 22 beaches and coves. Four beaches, out of only 22 in the whole of England, have been awarded the "European Blue Flag", and a further six have received the "Seaside Award". Both awards are given to denote high standards of beach management and water quality.
The South Hams coastline extends to 58 miles, and includes 11 major beaches, plus numerous beautiful coves. Eleven beaches have been received Beach Awards, more than in any other area of the country. There is an amazing choice of beaches, from the sweeping panorama of Slapton Beach to the dozens of sheltered sandy coves.
